Local Business SEO Services

Your Google Business Profile is now more important than ever!

WHY? Because AI search engines use it as the foundational “source of truth” to select and recommend local businesses directly to users. Traditional search results are being replaced by AI-generated answers, making your profile the primary way to win local customers.

When someone searches locally, Google picks three business Profiles, AI picks the business it names in its answer. We work on the signals behind each of those choices: your Google Business Profile, your listings across directories, your reviews, your service-area pages and the structured data AI systems read.

How we work

Our Local SEO Approach

Local rankings depend on several separate sources: your Google Business Profile, the directory listings that confirm it, your reviews, your own pages and what AI assistants read about you. We work on all five, because a strong profile with inconsistent listings or thin pages still loses to a competitor with fewer gaps.

Turn a basic listing into a complete profile that gives Google reasons to rank it.

  • Primary and secondary categories and attributes that match what you actually offer
  • Photos and video that give searchers reasons to engage with the listing
  • A regular schedule of Google Posts to keep the profile current
  • Questions and answers seeded with the questions customers ask most
  • Services and products listed in the profile’s own catalog
  • Booking and messaging features set up and connected
Example of a complete Google Business Profile: photos, rating, primary and secondary categories, and a checklist of hours, services, posts, questions and booking

Example of a completed profile. Your categories and services come from the audit.

Give search engines one consistent version of your business everywhere it is listed.

  • An audit of your existing listings across 100+ directories
  • Every NAP inconsistency found and corrected
  • New listings on high-authority general directories
  • Submissions to the directories specific to your industry
  • Duplicate listings found and suppressed
  • Ongoing monitoring so corrected listings stay correct
Example citation audit. Google, the reference listing, shows Your Business, 120 Main St, 555-0142. Yelp shows a different address, Apple Maps a different phone number and Facebook a different business name

Example audit rows. A real audit covers every directory where your business appears.

Build a review profile that both customers and local rankings respond to.

  • A review request process that runs after every job
  • A response approach for positive and negative reviews
  • A steady flow of new reviews instead of occasional bursts
  • First-party reviews collected on your own website
  • Review schema so ratings can appear in search results
  • Benchmarking against competitors’ review counts and recency
Two example businesses over 12 months. Occasional bursts: 24 reviews with nine months that had none. Steady flow: 81 reviews with new reviews every month

Example: new reviews per month over 12 months for two businesses.

Pages that rank for local searches and give visitors what they need to call.

  • A service-area page for each location you want to rank in
  • Service pages with local relevance built in
  • Blog content on local and community topics
  • FAQ content that answers local customers’ questions
  • Case studies and testimonials from local customers
  • Content about local events and your community involvement
Example page plan: four services across four areas. Each cell shows whether the page is live, planned or not offered in that area

Example page plan. Each live page is written for that service in that area.

Make your business a candidate when an assistant recommends a local provider.

  • Optimization for voice assistant queries
  • Visibility work for local answers in ChatGPT and Perplexity
  • Structured data that AI systems can extract
  • Presence on the review platforms AI systems draw on
  • Local authority built through digital PR
  • Entity work for inclusion in the knowledge graph

Why it matters

Why Local Search Decides Who Gets the Call

A person searching for a service in their own area usually needs it soon. The businesses on the first screen of results, in the AI answer, the Map Pack and the top organic links, receive most of the calls. A business that isn’t there isn’t considered.

A common layout for a local query on a phone. The order varies by query and by what Google chooses to show.

It is the single largest factor in Map Pack rankings. The name, category, hours, photos and reviews Google shows in Maps all come from the profile, so a complete profile with strong reviews improves local visibility more than any other single change.

There is no fixed number. You need to be competitive with the businesses ranking above you in your area and category, and Google looks at the count, how recent the reviews are and how steadily new ones arrive. We usually plan for 5 to 10 or more new reviews a month.

If you want to rank for “[service] in [city]” searches, yes. A single page saying you serve the greater area won’t rank for them. Each page needs content specific to that area. The same text with the city name swapped is treated as duplicate content.

Profile changes can show within weeks. Citation cleanup and new listings usually take 2 to 3 months to have their full effect on rankings. Most clients see clear Map Pack movement within 90 days, with continued gains over 6 to 12 months.

ChatGPT, Siri and Google Assistant are used more and more for local recommendations. When someone asks for the best dentist nearby, the assistant draws on review platforms, directory data, authority signals and structured data. Businesses that have those in order are named more often.

Both have a place. Ads send traffic only while you pay for them. Local SEO builds reviews, listings and pages that keep producing leads after the work is done. Most established local businesses use both.
